    My name is Akil Bennett and I am a Wedding & Portrait Photographer based out of Houston, Texas. This is where I'll share my most recent work ranging from weddings and portrait sessions, to personal shoots and raves about the latest film I've seen!

    The best way to describe my style is light, playful and fun. I shoot in an editorial style for my clients in the hope of creating images that radiate romance and joy. Our studio's work has been featured in several wedding blogs and magazines and I simply love photography!

We’re Not Sorry For Party Rockin!

I don’t usually post a lot of personal stuff on this blog. This was just too good to pass up though! Every year my good friend and awesome photographer Chris throws a Valentines Day party. Every year we’ve had a theme. The first was actually Valentines Day themed, the second was Mardi Gras, last year was Casino Royal but this year we decided to step it up a notch….LMFAO! It was a ton of fun! We’ve always dressed up for all of them but I think this year a lot of people went all out. If you look closely you might recognize quite a few wedding industry vendors in attendance. I’m already counting down the days till next years party! We’re taking recommendations for themes!

La Colombe d’Or Houston Wedding Photography | Nicole and JD

I never got around to posting Nicole and JD’s wedding at La Colombe d’Or so here it is! They had their ceremony at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Nicole’s family loves theatre so they had that be the theme for their reception at La Colombe d’Or. Aurora from Occasio Productions did a wonderful job styling and coordinating the wedding. This wedding was actually published in the last issue of The Knot Texas Magazine! I’ll share the spread from that soon. For now here are my favorites!

Herman Park Engagement Portraits | Kasia and Chris

Last week I photographed Kasia and Chris’ Engagement Portraits at Herman Park. I’ve known Kasia and Chris for a few years now and I was really excited when they asked me to be their photographer! Kasia is actually one of the coordinators at one of Houston’s most popular venues, Chateau Polonez. I know she works with a lot of amazing photographers here in Houston so it was really cool that they wanted me to capture the day for them. Here are my favorites from the engagement shoot…enjoy!

Outdoor Backyard Wedding In Friendswood Tx.

Earlier this month I photographed Christie and Gary’s wedding at their family’s house in Friendswood, Tx. Gary is a photographer himself and I was ecstatic when he asked me to be his photographer!
